Steeda have launched hard into our all new S650 Mustang development, just as you would expect us to. Our resident drag king and factory chief, Scott Boda, picked up this silver base package GT with an automatic A10 gearbox and immediately claimed it as his own, and set up creating the all new "Silver Bullet" version 2.0 to see what it could do and to test which parts could transition across from the S550 platform and what would require new work and development!
One thing we knew would be out to start with is any real big power train developments, until the tuning gurus can work out how to address the S650 GT's all new twin intake and throttle body setup plus its associated tuning.
A quick dyno test gave us some base lines and we further tested the difference a set of Kooks headers could make on the car, and indeed they gave a nice boost. We also started to experiment with deleting the new factory "carbon traps" which are inserted into the intake pathways.
A full slew of chassis and suspension mods were rapidly transitioned across from the original S550 Silver Bullet, including our hardcore front K-Member Drag setup .. In the shot below you can also see that the rear part of the exhaust system after the kooks headers seems to have fallen off!

Aside from this pretty comprehensive catalogue of Steeda's famous suspension an chassis parts, Scott also added a Steeda rear seat delete and some Corbeau Racing Seats, which also helps reduce weight.
A crucial part of any serious drag car is its wheel and tyre package and Scott borrowed our billet specialties Win Lite Black Front and Rear Wheels, which measure 17×4.5 in the front and 17×10 at the back and wrapped them in Mickey Thompson performance drag tyres.
This initial package was very quickly put to the test on the track and achieved a promising opening time, an 11.22 at 125.17 mph terminal, but obviously there is a lot more to come from the Silver Bullet V2.0!
While Scott WAS happy with his initial transition to the S650 GT one thing he wasn't happy about was the look! It was TOO similar tot he old Silver Bullet V1.0! So he took a trip to our design teams office and they came up with this cool new wrap to really mark out the new car!
