The first Camp Steeda Europe went off with a bang this June in blazing sun and a great time was had by all at the fantastic Bilsterberg Driving Resort.
Attended by the Steeda Europe team, supported by Steeda Germany and Steeda Luxembourg, we had a great bunch of cars and people who were ready to try their Mustangs on track, many for the first time, and also some who opted to try and improve their rear wheel drive driving skills on the skid pan. Not only that but Michelin Germany were also on hand to set up the fantastic "Michelin Pitstop" and Marius from Pro Racetrack, plus Marko and his team of instructors were there to provide knowledge,
education and guidance for everyone who asked.
Morning session briefing in flow at Bilsterberg.
Chief Instructor Marko and Steeda Robbie at Intro Briefing:
On site we had two activities the main Bilsterberg track which started off with beginner training sessions and then went into "open " pitlane mode. The other was the "dynamic area" offering the "Slalom Strip" and the "Donut Drift" areas, a wet surface area to practice car control, always important for our powerful rear wheel drive cars. The "Slalom Strip" added a very low grip surface to the mix to allow instant loss of traction at low speed...perfect for practising and building confidence.
Slalom Strip was great fun:
I managed to grab some time to sit in with some customers in the Dynamic area and it was very rewarding. Seeing people all over the place slowly getting the hang of things was great, and I even had the pleasure of an outing with Pony Power Tim!
Enjoy the "Drift King"(!) in action and give Tim a follow: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLMvLkkNWuS/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Donut Drift in Action!
We had a break for lunch at the terrific Bilsterberg restaurant and then grabbed who we could for a nice grid photo op before the track action started again in the afternoon.

The Michelin Pit Stop In action:
The Michelin pitstop helped people learn more about their cars and tyres by providing an instant and constantly updated reading on tyre temperatures and pressures, allowing adjustment and tips to help provide optimal grip and enjoyment and also learn about improving contact patch and tyre longevity. After all, we work work with Michelin because tyres are an essential last part of the complex system of a cars performance. The chassis, suspension, wheels and tyres all work in harmony to provide optimal performance. Let one part of that "chain" break or be the weak link and it affects overall performance.

Here is one of my favourite pictures of the day.. Ford's commitment to performance in one snap! A Fiesta and a Ford GT side by side and surrounded by Mustangs!

The track saw plenty of action and people came from all over, with James coming over from the UK, Hubert from Poland with his wife, and others from all over Luxembourg and Germany and Austria, including plenty of first time track goers too. It was great to see so many people sharing their pleasure and passion with their family and plenty of youngsters were present including top Steeda Germany apprentice Felix. Instagram legend Pony Power Tim, Michael and his son Oskar and many more.
Michael and Oskar head out:
The Steeda teams also used it as a chance to get plenty of seat time in and experience the cars on the limit, and also show some guests from Ford Europe and Autohaus Hagemeier just what Steeda Q series cars can do. Needless to say they were amazed!
Steeda Germany Julia getting ready to rumble!
As ever, the track gives us a chance to show that Porsche and BMW buyers in Europe now have a new option when it comes to buying an awesome and very track capable sports car.
The Steeda Q Series cars shows that we can take a Mustang to incredible levels of performance. We hope we can deliver that message to more of Europe's sports car drivers over the coming years!
We ended the day giving out some awards to bring a fantastic day to a close. Hot, fast and super fun. Thanks to everyone that came.
Winners were:
James in his Q767R Mach 1: (distance travelled + coolest T Shirt)
Hubert (Blue GT) and his wife: (most improved)
Huberts wife didn't even want to try the skid pan, but after some great instructing (by me, haha!) she was a natural and had the car swinging!
Lydia (red GT) - instructors award for most passion and enjoyment
Max Fiege (Q767 Mach 1) - Robbie #Speedmatters award
