Some Mustangs do, and some Mustangs don't. If you are buying a used Mustang, or just plain can't remember ever talking about it, then here is an easy way to check. It might seem strange but we meet plenty of customers who just don't know!
Some cars came with MagneRide as default so you don't have to check.. but some of the 2018+ facelift cars it was an option... so you do!
Default EU MagneRide from Factory:
2016+ GT350 (IMPORT ONLY)
2020+ GT500 (IMPORT ONLY)
2021+ Mach1
2024+ Dark Horse
Why do you have to know? So you know what suspension from Steeda to buy!
If you have MagneRide our famous Dual Rate MagneRide Springs are amazing.
If you don't have MagneRide and want a plug and play upgrade over your factory stock shocks then the Steeda "active" shocks paired with a set of our springs will also be a great upgrade!
One of the differences in MagneRide springs is that the rear axle springs are actually "handed" and so come in a right and left set, not just two identical rear springs.
Steeda Tip: The right rear spring is wound so it fits in the control arm in the picture above. This is the fool-proof way to determine which springs goes where.
(The right spring is left-hand wound – the left spring is right hand wound)
Also, the springs will only fit on the control arm one way. You cannot mix them up when installing them as they physically will not fit on the wrong arm.
